Sis, Don’t Settle is the new book by Judge Faith Jenkins. Many are familiar with Faith from various TV judge shows, but Faith is also the author of a very useful book on dating and relationships. With Judge Faith’s experience on Divorce Court, she is able to provide the reader with many different examples to illustrate the principles discussed throughout the book. Faith’s honesty throughout the book is surprising and refreshing. She gives her personal experiences of those situations with men that she isn’t proud of. She also gives practical advice on the importance of being a high valued woman and dating high valued men. Her experiences help the reader relate and understand that the woman you were then is not who you are now.
The book is broken up into four parts, which all cover areas on how to show up as a better version of yourself regardless of your relationship status. Faith gives advice on the Dos and Don’ts for marriage and other relationships. The book focuses on how to handle rejection that comes as individuals date. While easier said than done, she mentions viewing those rejections as redirections. The book discusses the importance of sitting down to decide who you are. Faith gives details on her Four Facts that she used to better understand herself and what she wanted out of a partner. The topics discussed throughout the book help to encourage the reader to move from a single mindset to a relationship mindset. After reading this book, the reader will be better equipped to understand her worth and value.
